I'm Back!!

I everyone!! I know it's been a couple months since I've done a post, but it's been very busy in our house since the birth of our beautiful Sedona!!!! We welcomed our beautiful girl on February 10 at 8:24pm, she was 6lbs 7oz. She is a complete blessing and we pinch ourselves everyday knowing she's  finally here!
Our birth plan didn't go exactly the way we thought, but we knew things could change, especially with my history. We checked in the hospital at 8:00 pm on Thursday February 9th thinking I'd go through a regular delivery, but after 24 hours of labor our little peanut was being stubborn and wouldn't move. After our doctor tried every option to move her position, we decided a c-section would be the safest. I was rolled into the surgery room and less than an hour later we heard the cries from our beautiful little miracle. The anxiety and worry just poured out of my body and I let out the biggest sigh of relief. Our angel is finally here and in our arms!
I still can't believe it, it's so surreal to look into her eyes everyday and know I was feeling her kicks and hiccups in my tummy only a month ago. I still get emotional writing about her, she's everything we ever hoped for and dreamed of. I truly believe both Sophia and Lilly were in that surgery room watching over the both of us. They made sure their little sister would be safe in mommy and daddy's arms. After writing about my pregnancy journey the past 9 months our little miracle has graced us with her presence!

It's beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Boy oh boy! We've had a lot going on this past month! I know it's been awhile since my last post, but guess what?! I'm on the verge of being 30 weeks and going strong in my 7th month!!! Where has the time gone?? Tony and I have gotten so much done since I last checked in and at this point it's time to enjoy the holidays with our family and get excited for our baby shower!!πŸ˜ƒ
In my last post, I spoke about how we were still deciding on what church we wanted to baptize peanut, we needed to finalize our pediatrician, and last but not least to finish her beautiful nursery! I'm excited to say, done done and done! I can't believe how much we got done in this small period of time. We even got her little carseat installed and inspected! A+ for us!!πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹
Tony and I wanted to do something special to always remember the blessed journey of this pregnancy by documenting it in a huge way! We weren't able to have that chance during my pregnancy with Sophia, so this time we wanted to make it a very special occasion. We did a beautiful maternity shoot with Jane Z from, the same photographer that shot our wedding, and it just seemed fitting for her to shoot my pregnancy. We picked my family home for the location because we wanted  place that was very special to us and holds a lot of memories. I must say though, I had a lot of emotions that day knowing what a momentous occasion this was for us. It's our baby girls first photos with mom and dad! How sweet is that?! The photos turned out absolutely amazing and I can't wait till she's old enough to know that she was in mommy's tummy πŸ’ž
These moments that Jane captured were so surreal! Knowing we've finally reached our ultimate goal of a happy and healthy pregnancy is the greatest gift God could give us. The love and happiness between Tony, I and our little girl is priceless. Between each photo, I would touch and hold onto the necklace I always wear of Sophia's little hands, you can see in some of the photos, to give me strength through some of the emotional moments. I know sweet Sophia was there with her daddy, I and her new little sissy. I know she was giving us a great big smileπŸ‘Ά
I hope you enjoy some of the amazing photos from our shoot!
In the next update to come, I'll be revealing the name we have chosen for her along with the reveal of her gorgeous nursery!

3 More Months!!

I know it's been a couple weeks since my last post, so I just wanted to update all of you on my progress so far. This has been an amazing pregnancy! Compared to my last two pregnancies this has definitely been a God send.  I think back on my pregnancy with Sophia and I can't imagine going through or feeling the way I did with this little girl. I was in so much pain everyday that I would never wish that upon anyone. From severe migraines, to throwing up daily, to the stress of wondering whether or not we'll be able to bring our baby girl home, to will she be able to survive much longer. I thank God and my lucky stars everyday for our miracle baby and I pray this pregnancy continues to go so well.
Tony and I have been super busy lately getting everything done and making sure we're prepared. We have finally finished planning for my big baby shower, which I'm so excited for! And we are thankful for all of the love and support from our family and friends that are making the trip to Arizona for this great occasion. It's so surreal to think that we've finally made it to the point where we can have a baby shower!! We've been through so much this past year that we never thought it was possible. It's like finally making it to graduation when you never thought that moment would ever come. We can actually feel happy and blessed about an occasion instead of putting a happy face on, but feeling sad, stressed and emotional inside because we have constant fear about our baby. I truly believe that God was waiting for the perfect time to bless us with our baby girl and having her in February is even better because she and I will share a birthday month!!
We're in the process of putting her nursery together and adding special little pieces to the decor. I'm going for a pink boho theme with little arrows, teepees, and dreamcatchers. This goes perfectly with the name we picked for our little peanut, but, if you follow my Instagram we'll do a name reveal soon enough ;) We still need to settle on a church where we'll baptize her, but we've come to the conclusion that the churches are much different out here than what Tony and I grew up with. Coming from the Midwest you belong to a church that you've been brought up in. Most likely, the neighborhood church close by that all of your friends and family attend. Well, if you're a transplant in a different state like my husband and I are, it's much different trying to find a church community that feels like home. We've gone through three now and we still haven't found the one where we feel at home with. Last but not least, we have our first pediatrician appointment next week. We'd like to meet with a couple doctors so we know she's getting the best care possible. The big test will be if they have a tolerance for me being a first time mom and having their number on speed dial haha. The next couple months are going to be crazy for us finalizing everything, taking our last baby class, a maternity photo shoot, which I'm so excited for!! Putting finishing touches on the nursery, oh and not to mention the HOLIDAYS!
I'll be posting more about our experiences as the time goes by leading up to everything and sharing products, photos and revealing some exciting things! More to come :)

Quick and Easy Blueberry Muffin Recipe!

I've been craving a lot of sweets lately and scavenging my cabinets last night for something to ease my sweet tooth. I realized I had a box of blueberry muffin mix hiding in the back, perfect! But I was also bored with the same old blueberry muffins, so I continued to look for yummy things to add to the mix. I thought to use things I already had in my cabinet, instead of running to the store to get last minute ingredients. Dried Craisins sounded good to me, oats for the health factor, and honey yum!  So I decided to give it a go without hesitation and they came out great!

All you need is:
-Any type of blueberry muffin mix
-3/4 cups of oats
-1Tbsp of honey
-1/4 cup of Craisins
-3 eggs
-1/2 cup water
-1/3 cup oil
Bake according to muffin box

Final results! Enjoy!

I've been getting a lot done since my last update! My parents are in town now and my mom has made it her mission to help us get the bulk of things done before Thanksgiving. It's been huge weight off my shoulders because I was feeling a little stressed trying to get everything done. The last things we have to do is find a pediatrician and a church we like to baptize peanut at. The churches here are a lot different than the ones Tony and I are use to back in the mid-west. We've been to a couple so far, but haven't thought, wow we really like that one. So it's been a difficult task, but we're still looking.

Due date: February, 25th

How many weeks: 21.5!! Can't believe it's going so fast!

Started to show yet? Yes! I've been showing very early on. My normal clothes are becoming very tight haha.

Maternity clothes: Yep, and I can't help myself! They're all so cute. I just bought some more cute things for fall at Pink Blush Maternity and A Pea in the Pod Maternity. Love their clothes!

Sleeping: I've been getting great sleep lately! I just got a maternity belly pillow that I use if my lower back is hurting. Other than that, I stack a bunch of pillows around me like I'm preparing for a flood haha.

Mood: My emotions are getting the best of me. I seem to cry at everything and little things are bothering me very easily. My hubby's a great sport, but I know he feels helpless when I'm in a "mood."

Movement: A ton! Feels like she's having a dance party in there. Last week, Tony got to feel his first kick!! He was stunned and amazed! He couldn't believe it was peanut haha. It brought tears to my eyes because sweet Sophia was too small for him to feel her. I could feel little kicks here and there, but no where near to how much  I feel peanut. It was a very exciting moment, but I couldn't help but feel a little sad that we lost out on that with Sophia :/

Cravings: My recent cravings are sweets. I'm finding myself buying chocolate whenever I can :/

Stretch marks: Not as of yet.

Best moment so far: When Tony felt his first kick and going on a little shopping spree for peanut!!

Preparing for baby: Oh jeez, we've been doing a lot since my last update. Ive registered at BuyBuyBaby for my baby shower, which is taking place January 8th! That took all evening especially for being beginners, we were very overwhelmed. Thank God my mom was there to help! I arranged a location for my baby shower at the beautiful Arcadia Farms Cafe in Scottsdale. I love this location because it's a cute little house transformed into a restaurant in the middle of the city. It has a very charming appeal on the inside and the food is all fresh and organic. I finally ordered my invites and finalized my guest list. Last but not least, started to arrange the nursery!!! I've gotten a lot done, WOW!

Up next, the beginning of my 6 month!!

19 Weeks!

It's been slow and steady, but the half way point is almost here! Only a week to go and I'll be heading towards my sixth month! It's been quite a ride so far, but I'm so excited to meet our little angel. I'm feeling her kick all the time as if she's trying to communicate with me. I love that she's letting me know, hey mom, play with me!

Due date: February, 25th

How many weeks: 19 weeks!!- Almost half way.

Started to show yet? Yes! I've been showing very early on. My normal clothes are becoming very tight haha.

Maternity clothes: Yep, and I can't help myself! They're all so cute.

Sleeping: Not so well since I've gotten further along. Trying to find a comfy spot with the bump is a bit difficult. I'm waking up more groggy and feeling restless.

Mood: My emotions are getting the best of me. I seem to cry at everything and little things are bothering me very easily. My hubby's a great sport, but I know he feels helpless when I'm in a "mood."

Movement: A ton! Feels like she's having a dance party in there. I feel her quite a bit in the morning and evening after dinner. She's going to be a dancer like her mommy!

Cravings: My recent cravings are caesar salad and tomato soup from Sauce. Which, is interesting, because I've never craved them before only until recently. OMG! I could eat them everyday if I could.

Stretch marks: Not as of yet.

Best moment so far: Seeing how big she's gotten at our last doctors appointment and feeling her kick all the time. Makes me so proud and honored that she picked us to be her parents:)

Preparing for baby: Tony just attended his first daddy bootcamp class and we're scouting churches this weekend so we'll be prepared for her baptism. There's a lot to do and she'll be here before we know it!!

Up next 6 months!!

Overnight in Tucson

My hubby and I wanted to get away for the night since it started to cool down here. We thought about heading to Sedona, but we were there last month. Tony came up with the idea of going to Tucson since he's never been. If you're not familiar with Arizona, Tucson is an hour south of Phoenix and the home of University of Arizona. If you keep going south you'll head towards El Paso, Texas. I've been on the outskirts several years ago, but have never been downtown or have taken in the sites. So we thought, why not make a little overnight getaway of it. There are several lavish resorts in the Catalina Foothills of Tucson and thats where we wanted to stay. We packed up the car and headed south!

We chose Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa, which is in a beautiful part of town and the views are spectacular. The resort sits on top of the mountain next to the La Paloma Country Club. The grounds are great and provided a lot to do. It felt like we were on vacation, with five resort style pools, a swim up bar, waterslide, tennis courts, and the Red Door Spa. We had a deluxe king room near the tennis courts and a semi mountain view. We didn't mind because we weren't going to be in the room much. We decided to walk the grounds a bit then venture towards downtown to the university. Since there was football game that night it was a bit tough to get out and walk, but we managed to make our way to a cute little restaurant called The Hub.

The next morning was a beautiful day and we planned on having brunch and walking around. The brunch was amazing! They had everything you could think of, from breakfast choices to lunch, dinner and seafood. Plus it included a mimosa or bloody Mary, which I was not partaking in :) All in all it was a relaxing little trip at a beautiful resort with beautiful sites and I'd definitely recommend it. It was nice to finally see Tucson, but it's always nice to come back home.
18 weeks!
